What you'll learn!

This four-part course introduces core concepts and technical skills to start building custom, interactive data visualizations in Observable Plot. Throughout the course, participants will follow along with lecture materials and hands-on activities to:

Learn about the basics of the grammar of graphics as it relates to Observable Plot layers
Build common chart types (including scatterplots, bar charts, line charts, and histograms) starting from code snippets and the Chart cell
Develop increasingly complex visualizations (e.g. faceting, channels, reducers, windows)
Add interactivity to charts with Observable Inputs and tooltips

Upon completing the course, participants can complete a short assignment to earn a course certificate.
