The Single-Stair
Hey housing folks!
We welcome you to join us for a happy hour centered around housing advocacy and Single-Stair reform. If you are an architect, developer, owner, planner, policy maker, housing advocate or local leader who wants to influence the direction of these concerns, we encourage you to attend and meet like-minded individuals.
Our featured guest is Stephen Smith, founder of 'Center for Building in North America.' He has a proposal to implement Single-Stair changes in the International Building Code (IBC) and he is in town defending it at the International Code Council's (ICC) hearings in Long Beach from Oct 25-27.
Along with Los Angeles architect, author and professor John Dutton, as well as entrepreneur/housing advocate Joseph Cohen May, I welcome you to learn more about Stephen's work and build bridges over drinks and appetizers in John’s fantastic space.
John will host us in his Echo Park studio located in The Elysian — former LA Dept of Water offices designed by prolific local architect William Pereira, and converted into residential units by Linear City Development. The happy hour is free and informal with no structured talks. Registration is required.
(The studio extends out to an outdoor grassy amenity space)
Please share with stakeholders and local pro-housing leaders and elected officials. If you are not able to attend but interested in learning more, reach out!

See you Thursday Oct 24th, 5-7pm!
