A Site Visit to Doddington Hall and the Lincoln and Witham Landscape Recovery Project
Join Nature Broking and Great Yellow at Doddington Hall, an Elizabethan estate near Newark, to explore the Lincoln & Witham Landscape Recovery Project - a nearly-6,000-hectare, multi-landowner initiative, stretching from the urban fringes of Lincoln towards Newark along the Witham Valley.
Anchored by Wilder Doddington, the project brings together approximately 30 landowners across a diverse mix of arable farmland, river floodplain, heathland, and wood pasture.
The project's ecological vision is highly ambitious: large-scale wetland restoration and floodplain realignment along the River Witham, the creation of new heathland and wood pasture landscapes, natural flood management (a particular priority given the region's hydrology), and a transition to regenerative agriculture across the wider landholding.
Alongside a range of ecosystem services, Great Yellow is generating carbon credits on this landscape-scale project, verified against Isometric's technology-led standard.
Expect an interactive, hands-on day: walk the land behind the credits, meet the people structuring the deal, and find out how landscape recovery and carbon credit generation work together.
