SOUND BATH FOR INNER PEACE
Time to slow down… As beings living in the North, when the days get shorter and the darkness surrounds us, our biological system tells us that it is time to rest and hibernate. But unfortunately this time of year often demands us to reach a bunch of deadlines and on top of that create the perfect Christmas:) Higher tempo instead of slower.
But just one deep sound bath with the intention to let go and reach a point of inner stillness can make a big difference. A chance to reset your system and get a relaxed perspective.
Sound baths are vibrations that deeply impacts your mind, body and spirit. With instruments designed to create harmony throughout your system, it has the possibility to restore the balance and get you »in tune«. You are invited to go inward, let go and just rest in yourself. And you don't have to do anything - the vibrations do the whole job. The sound bath can also be experienced as a powerful, beautiful sound journey or concert.
WHAT TO BRING
We recommend you to bring your own mat – preferably a little thicker and more comfortable if you have. If you can, also bring a small pillow and a blanket. If you are unable to bring your own stuff we can supply you with a thin yoga mat, a blanket and a small cushion. It is also possible to sit on a chair, if your body doesn’t favor laying on the floor.

ABOUT THE HOST
Tina Quartey has been an influential percussionist within the Swedish folk and world music scene for more than three decades. In groups like Filarfolket, Groupa, Nordan, Duo with fiddler Mats Edén and many other constellations she has intertwined Afro Cuban and Brazilian drum traditions with the Scandinavian folk music in her own unique way. Since many years she is also exploring music as vibration and frequency in sound baths, sound art and meditative, ambient concerts. In 2020 she was awarded the prize »Tradition Bearer of the Year« at the Swedish Folk & World Music Gala, and 2023 she received the Folk Music Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
