Ember Sessions Vol. 05
Come learn something new.
Welcome to Ember Sessions: A mini-lecture series where presenters share what they love and know with an audience eager to listen, question, and connect.
Ember Sessions is for curious adults who miss learning without pressure. Each session features short talks from people who are deeply engaged in their work and interests, sharing knowledge, insight, and perspective they’ve earned through practice and experience.
The event is designed to feel structured but relaxed.
🥂 Arrival & Social Time: Arrive, grab a drink, and settle in as the music sets the tone and conversations begin.
🧠 Mini-Lectures: Listen in as three presenters each share a 10-minute talk on a topic they know deeply, each followed by audience Q&A.
💭 Closing & Linger: Stay awhile after the talks to reflect, connect, and talk through what resonated—with a friend or someone new.
The Agenda
Angela Haynes, Your Taste Isn't Random: The Cultural and Social Forces Behind What We Drink & Why
Olamide Osisami, Good vs. Evil: The Dangerous Simplicity of American Thinking
Malia Todd, Fight the Power, Stream the Message: Music as Resistance Then and Now
Ember Sessions brings the classroom energy back without the grades, the pressure, or the performative expertise.
