Munich Tech Sauna– FAQ

How much does it cost?
Please check https://saunamasters.de/ and buy your ticket/reservation ahead of time. Tickets are limited. This is a sauna event, expect lines and not being able to watch every Aufguss.

I’ll arrive a bit later, is that okay?
No worries at all! The group will already be there. Look out for the Munich Tech Sauna logo or our flag. Drop a message in Discord when you’re on your way—it makes finding us easier.

Will there be talks or presentations?
Nope. This is a digital detox meetup. We hang out, unwind, chat about anything (not just tech), and enjoy a beer or two.

What should I bring?
Pack slippers, 2–3 towels, swimwear if you plan to take a dip, some water, and a bit of cash for your ticket or snacks.

Why meet up in a sauna of all places?
It’s inspired by Finnish culture, where people relax and connect after work in the warmth of the sauna. Turns out, it’s a great place for authentic conversations.

I’m not a developer or a tech person. Can I still join?
Absolutely. The community is open to everyone—techies, creatives, students, entrepreneurs, and anyone curious to meet new people in a chilled-out setting.

Tips for Sauna Newbies

Sauna sessions are meant to be relaxing, not a challenge—listen to your body and go at your own pace.

  1. Plan around two hours so you have time to relax between sauna rounds. Avoid going in on an empty or overly full stomach.

  2. Shower and dry off before entering; dry skin sweats more easily. A short warm foot bath beforehand can help your body start to sweat.

  3. Always sit or lie on your towel so it covers your whole body. A single session usually lasts 8–15 minutes. Sit up for the last two minutes to help your circulation adjust.

  4. After leaving the sauna, start cooling down with some fresh air, then rinse or shower before using cold water or the plunge pool.

  5. Follow the cold phase with another warm foot bath—this helps your body feel balanced again.

  6. Rest after each round and let your body recover before the next session.
