About Priya
Dr. Priya Singhal, MD, PhD is an accomplished physician-scientist and C-suite biotechnology leader dedicated to developing transformative therapies for patients and their caregivers.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Singhal has led more than 75 drug development programs and played a significant role in the approval of over 12 first-in-class and best-in-class therapies across diverse therapeutic areas. Since January 2023, she has served as Executive Vice President and Head of Development at Biogen, where she oversees the company’s entire clinical and marketed portfolio and manages strategic capital allocation for a multibillion-dollar R&D budget.
Dr. Singhal previously held senior leadership roles at Biogen, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Zafgen, and Millennium Pharmaceuticals, making key contributions to portfolio strategy, governance, regulatory filings, and product approvals. She earned her MPH in International Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, completed her internal medicine training in Mumbai, India, and is a frequent invited speaker at academic and industry forums. She also serves as guest faculty at Harvard Medical School.
In this session, Dr. Singhal will share insights from her journey as a physician leader in biotech, lessons from leading large global R&D organizations, and advice for building impactful, purpose-driven careers in life sciences.
