About Event

More collaboration isn't always the answer. Sometimes, it's part of the problem.

More meetings. More Slack messages. More people involved in decisions. Leaders constantly being pulled into operational conversations. Teams struggling to move work forward without checking with someone else first.

Sound familiar?

We often celebrate collaboration as a sign of a healthy organisational culture, but what happens when collaboration becomes the workaround for unclear responsibilities, overlapping accountabilities and poorly defined decision-making?

As organisations grow, the informal ways of working that once made them successful can quietly become the very things slowing them down.

And the cost? Slower decisions, reduced productivity, frustrated employees, overwhelmed leaders and an organisation increasingly dependent on people holding everything together.

In this free, 60-minute interactive session, we'll explore together:

  • Intentional vs reactive collaboration: How to recognise the difference and why it matters.

  • The hidden organisational costs: How excessive collaboration affects productivity, decision-making, accountability and employee wellbeing.

  • What's really driving it: Why unclear ownership, decision rights and organisational structures often sit behind the symptoms.

  • How to diagnose the problem: Practical ways to identify where collaboration is adding value and where it's compensating for something missing.

  • What to do differently: Simple, actionable steps to create greater clarity, reduce unnecessary dependencies and make collaboration more purposeful.

What will you leave with?

A clearer understanding of how your organisation really collaborates, a practical approach to identifying the underlying causes of reactive working, and tangible next steps you can take back to your teams.

This isn't about encouraging people to collaborate less. It's about designing organisations where collaboration happens intentionally, because it adds value, rather than because nobody can move forward without it.

Who is this for?

Founders, senior leaders, People professionals and anyone responsible for improving how teams work together, particularly in growing organisations.

About your host

I'm Rosie Graham, founder of New Conscious Co., organisational effectiveness and design consultant, and author of The Conscious Company.

With over 15 years of experience in HR and People leadership, I've worked with growing organisations across technology, SaaS and other fast-moving industries, supporting international expansion, organisational change and the challenges that come with scaling.

Over time, my work evolved beyond traditional HR and People functions as I increasingly recognised that many of the challenges organisations face aren't actually people problems. They're often symptoms of how the organisation itself is designed, how decisions are made, how responsibilities are distributed and how teams work together.

That realisation shaped my move into organisational effectiveness and design, and ultimately the creation of New Conscious Co., where I help founders and leadership teams build more intentional, effective and sustainable organisations.

Join me for an hour of practical insight, honest reflection and ideas you can put into action! ✍️
