Forbidden Fruit NYFW show featuring an installation by Helena Elston Studio, Kirsten Tingle, and Local Romance, with music by PlantWave.
An extension of the current exhibition at Fugue Gallery featuring mushrooms - the original forbidden fruit. This installation brings together mycelium garments, mushroom sculpture, fungi-inspired music, and mobile works: all grown, sculpted, and suspended.
Helena Elston Studio grows mycelium on textile waste by hand, transforming it into wearable and sculptural pieces. Her work has been shown in NYC, Milan, London, and Berlin, and has been featured in National Geographic, Dezeen, and Hypebeast.
Kirsten Tingle is a Scottish artist working between London and New York, combining mycelium fabrication, phytoremediation, and oil painting. She has exhibited internationally, from Pioneer Works and Chashama in NYC to the Edinburgh Fringe and Kyoto Arts Center.
Local Romance (Ian Scott) is a Kentucky-born, NYC-based sculptor working in kinetic sculpture, suspending natural materials like flowers, moss, and bark alongside iron and steel to reveal the intricate design of nature in motion.
With sound by PlantWave — Joe Patitucci's pioneering bio-sonification project translating plants' real-time electrical activity into ambient music, from intimate galleries to major festivals worldwide.

Mushrooms provided by Noble Mushrooms, an organic mycology lab and farm in NJ growing, extracting, and curating every product in-house.
Mushroom bites will be served at the event, prepared by a Michelin Star chef - Dae Kim.
