Here's the recording of the live event for you
Your cholesterol report came back “normal.” Does that mean your heart risk is low?
For years, conversations about heart health have often started and ended with cholesterol.
“Is my cholesterol high?”
“Should I stop eating fat?”
“My numbers look okay, so am I in the clear?”
But cardiovascular health is more complex than a single number on a blood report.
From the type and number of cholesterol-carrying particles to inflammation, insulin resistance, genetics, food quality, sleep, stress and physical activity—there’s a much bigger picture worth understanding.
So, this World Heart Day, we’re going beyond cholesterol.
What does heart-healthy eating actually look like today?
Join us for Beyond Cholesterol: The New Science of Cardiovascular Nutrition, an evidence-based session led by Smriti Mishra, Senior Nutrition & Well-being Consultant and Clinical Dietitian with 17+ years of experience.
We’ll move beyond generic advice like “eat less fat” and explore what current cardiovascular nutrition focuses on—from ApoB and Lp(a) to fibre, dietary patterns, metabolic health and what should actually go on your plate.
The goal isn't to turn you into a cardiologist in an hour. It's to help you better understand the factors behind cardiovascular health and the everyday choices that can support it.

✨ What will you learn?
This session will explore cardiovascular health from a much broader lens:
Why cholesterol isn't the whole story when thinking about cardiovascular risk
LDL-C, Non-HDL-C & ApoB: understanding atherogenic particle burden
Lp(a): an often-overlooked inherited cardiovascular risk factor
The connection between triglycerides, remnant particles and insulin resistance
The roles of inflammation and oxidative stress in atherosclerosis
Dietary fat: why the quality of fat and what you replace it with matter
Fibre, gut health and the gut–heart connection
Plant-based vs ultra-processed: what does “heart healthy” actually mean?
What we can learn from Mediterranean, DASH and Portfolio dietary patterns
Cardiovascular nutrition specifically in the South Asian/Indian context
How sleep, stress and physical activity fit into cardiometabolic health
Why nutrition is moving towards a more individualised approach
Most importantly: What should we actually put on our plates?
🙋 Who should attend?
This session is relevant for employees, working professionals, managers, HR and leadership teams, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in evidence-based approaches to cardiovascular and metabolic health.
You don't need a background in medicine or nutrition. If you'd simply like to better understand heart health and the role everyday nutrition can play, this conversation is for you.
❤️ Why this matters
Heart-health advice can sometimes become overly simplistic:
Avoid fat.
Watch your cholesterol.
Exercise more.
Those things can be part of a much bigger conversation.
Our understanding of cardiovascular nutrition now includes the quality of dietary fats, different lipid markers, metabolic health, inflammation, genetics, gut health, dietary patterns and lifestyle factors—not simply whether one cholesterol number falls inside a reference range. Smriti's session specifically brings these factors together, including their relevance for South Asian populations.
This World Heart Day, we're creating space to understand that bigger picture—and translate it into choices that make sense in everyday life.
