Leukerbad Robot Carnival 2026 Hackathon

Robotics × Extended Reality × Artificial Intelligence

As an important side event of Leukerbad Robot Carnival 2026, this hackathon will focus on three key areas: Robotics, Extended Reality, and Artificial Intelligence. We invite developers, researchers, designers, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts to explore real-world applications for the cities of the future.

This is not just a traditional hackathon. It is a hardware-driven innovation experiment set in a real urban environment. Participants will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of cutting-edge devices, including humanoid robots, quadruped robots, robotic arms, dexterous hands, drones, AR / VR devices, AI glasses, and other intelligent hardware.

Three Core Themes

Robotics
Explore how robots can be applied in hotels, restaurants, thermal baths, construction sites, public spaces, and urban services. Potential directions include service robots, construction robotics, mobile robots, robot navigation, human-robot interaction, and embodied intelligence.

Extended Reality
Explore how AR, VR, MR, and spatial computing can be used in smart tourism, city navigation, cultural experiences, education and training, digital twins, spatial interaction, and immersive experiences.

Artificial Intelligence
Explore AI agents, multimodal interaction, intelligent assistants, real-time translation, scene understanding, automation tools, and new applications that combine AI with robotics, XR, and wearable devices.

Equipment and Resources

One of the key highlights of this hackathon is that participating teams will have the opportunity to work with real hardware from leading technology companies.

We plan to provide access to devices from companies including, but not limited to, Agibot, Unitree Robotics, Flexiv, Direct Drive Tech, BrainCo, Rokid, Holotus, Even Realities, XREAL, and RayNeo. The equipment will cover humanoid robots, quadruped robots, robotic arms, dexterous hands, AR glasses, VR headsets, AI glasses, and other intelligent hardware.

This has the potential to become one of the first hackathons in continental Europe to bring together such a wide range of robots, robotic arms, dexterous hands, drones, XR devices, and AI glasses for real-world urban application development.

Participant Support

Selected participants will receive free accommodation and meals during the hackathon, allowing them to focus fully on creation, development, and teamwork.

Who Should Join?

This hackathon welcomes students, researchers, engineers, designers, and creators from fields such as robotics, AI, XR, software development, interaction design, product innovation, entrepreneurship, and smart cities.

Whether your strength lies in technical development, hardware applications, AI models, XR experiences, product design, or scenario innovation, we welcome you to join us if you are excited about the cities of the future.

Join Us

In Leukerbad, the city itself will become a living experiment. Robots, artificial intelligence, and extended reality devices will no longer be just exhibits — they will become future tools entering real-life urban scenarios.

Together, let’s explore how robotics, AI, and XR can shape the future of city life.
