Trekking in the Wild

​Our inaugural Rafflesian Business Network Trekking session.

We will embark on a 3.62km counter-clockwise loop of Rifle Range Nature Park. This is fairly family friendly with some steps, and slopes, but otherwise flat.

Visitor Centre - Kampong Chantek Trail - Kampong Chantek Road - Durian Loop - Nangka Trail - Culogo Trail and Deck - Gliders Boardwalk - Visitor Centre.

Please wear a broad-brim hat, long sleeves and long pants, and wear a comfortable pair of shoes that grip well. Alternatively, please utilise sunscreen. UV levels in Singapore tend to approach medium-high levels from 9 am onwards. Please bring your own supplies of refreshments.

Meeting points:

8.30am at Beauty World Station (Check-in opens at 8.15am)
8.45am at Visitor Centre (Check-in opens at 8.30am)
We will depart the meeting points at the stated times.

Inclement Weather:

In the event of inclement whether, we will send an outreach message an hour before the start notifying you of its cancellation. If it is forecasted to rain in the morning of the event, we may also cancel the event by notifying you the day before.

Post event activities:

Post-event, our hosts, in their personal capacity, will proceed for a late breakfast at a venue to be discussed. Feel free to join the hosts in your personal capacity for breakfast. Some of the hosts, may embark on additional hikes, and you may join these too.

Group Sizes:

We limit the group size to 30 persons including hosts due to NParks regulations that require permits for more than 30 attendees. If you are bringing your family members, please 'purchase' the correct number of tickets so that we can track the numbers correctly. In case the group exceeds 30 persons on the day itself, we will split the group into smaller sizes with 5 minute departure intervals.

If you decide not to attend, please cancel your registration EARLY so that wait-listed attendees can be given the opportunity to join us.

Indemnity Agreement:

By attending this event, you voluntarily agree to the following:

1. ​Activities and Risks I understand and acknowledge that outdoor recreational activities have inherent risks, dangers and hazards. Participation in such activities may result in injury or illness including, but not limited to: dehydration, heat stroke, frostbite, hypothermia, skin rashes, bee stings, diseases carried by ticks and mosquitos, mental anguish or trauma from experience or injury, sprained or broken bones and falls that may result in serious injury or death.

2. ​Assumption of Risk
   By my participation in these activities, I agree and acknowledge that I am a consenting party to these activities and that I am aware of the risks of these activities. I appreciate the nature of the risks and voluntarily assume those risks.

3. ​Release of Liability
   On behalf of myself and my successors or assigns, I hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend and indemnify Old Rafflesian Association and Rafflesian Business Network, its owners, agents, officers, and employees from any and all claims, actions, or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise that may arise out of my participation in guided hiking, and any or all other related and/or secondary activities. I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging, and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future for the negligent acts or other conduct by the owners, agents, officers or employees of Old Rafflesian Association and the Rafflesian Business Network, their successors and/or assigns.

4. ​Permission for Photography and Videography
   I may be photographed or videotaped, and I irrevocably grant to Old Rafflesian Association and Rafflesian Business Network, its successors, assigns, and licensees the exclusive right and authority to use, copyright and publish my voice, picture, name, and likeness for advertising, publicity, or promotional and other purposes in connection with Old Rafflesian Association and Rafflesian Business Network in any form, including and without limitation, social media outlets, newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, game programs, audio tapes, video tapes, television broadcasts and web pages. The right shall belong to Old Rafflesian Association and Rafflesian Business Network at all times and shall survive the termination of this document. No additional compensation shall be paid or payable to me for any right or use granted to Old Rafflesian Association and Rafflesian Business Network by me.
