​Introducing Copenhagen Finance Mixer

​Finance teams are small, even in large companies. If you run finance, there’s a good chance nobody else in the building has dealt with the problem on your desk. The people who have solved it work somewhere else. And until now, meeting them has usually meant paying a professional network thousands a year for the privilege of talking to people who do your job.

​We think that’s absurd. So Balance and Francis are launching Finance Mixer: a free network for finance professionals in Denmark. Once a quarter we’ll host an open evening like this one, with a talk or a panel and plenty of time to meet. No fee, no membership, no tiers.

​Why us? We both build for finance teams, so we already spend our days with the people this is for, and we’d like to spend a few evenings with them too. That’s the extent of it. We host and cover the bar; there are no product pitches, no demos, no stands.

​The first edition is an evening at ÅBEN in Kødbyen. We open with a panel of CFOs from some of Denmark’s strongest brands on what it takes to scale a finance function as the company grows: new markets, new entities, new hires. Then beer brewed on site, pizza, and the rest of the night with people who’ve been where you are.

​Who should attend

​CFOs, Heads of Finance and FP&A professionals. Registration is approval-based so that the person next to you has probably solved the problem you’re working on. We keep the room senior, well mixed across companies, and free of vendors and salespeople.

​Moderator

​Kristoffer Lippert
Kristoffer hosts Listed, a show built on long conversations with founders, investors and operators in and around public markets. He spends his time getting finance people to explain how things actually work, which makes him the right person to run a panel of CFOs. On the night, he’ll keep it practical: what broke when the business grew, what the panelists did about it, and what they’d do differently.

Johan runs finance at ÅBEN, the brewery hosting us, which has grown from one production site in Kødbyen to more than 120 people with bars in three cities, a restaurant and two festivals. He’s building the finance team while the company keeps adding locations, where every new bar is a new P&L.
