DOOO#9: Dooo something artsy at SF MoMA after hours
For our 2nd DOOO of the year, we’re heading downtown—this time for a rare late-night museum visit!
For DOOO #9, come dooo something artsy as we catch KAWS: FAMILY at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) for the final stretch of the exhibit—and one of the few nights they’re open after hours until 8pm.
KAWS is a great example of the multi-modal nature of design and design thinking: starting as a graffiti artist, remixing bus stop ads and billboards, to evolving into an iconic cartoon style that led to his recognizable figurines and larger than life installations in contemporary art. His work lives in that tension designers know well: familiar but original, commercial but irreverent, mass-market but deeply authored. He’s shaped visual culture in a way that’s hard to ignore.
Come hang, explore the exhibit together, and see what inspiration you can find hidden in the MoMA’s halls!
⚠️ Logistics (important):
🎟️ Buy your ticket in advance on the SF Moma site (they will likely sell out): grab a 6:00pm entry slot here: https://tickets.sfmoma.org/tickets/entry?performanceId=10745&type=ga
✅ RSVP on Luma once you buy a ticket so we know roughly how many people to look out for
🍹Pre-hang: PK and others will be at Natoma Cabana around 5:00pm if you want a place to meet early or need a place to buy time between work and the show
🚶 Walk over: we’ll head to SFMOMA together from there at 5:45pm
🎨 Museum entry: aim to enter around 6:00pm and explore from there
Come solo or bring a friend—same DOOO energy, with a little different setting this time. See ya soon!
