Trust Flows as a Key to Designing and Implementing Swiss E-ID-enabled Services
The introduction of the Swiss E-ID will create new opportunities for secure and trusted digital interactions across countless domains, from banking and healthcare to education and public administration. Yet, for many organizations, the challenge is not understanding the technology itself. The real challenge lies in understanding the trust relationships that make digital identity ecosystems work.
Who trusts whom? Which credentials are exchanged? How are identities verified? What role do issuers, holders, verifiers, and trust registries play? And how can these interactions be translated into concrete implementation projects?
Join us for our next Evening Talk organised in collaboration with DIDAS entitled "Trust Flows as a Key to Designing and Implementing Swiss E-ID-enabled Services", where we will explore how trust flows provide a practical framework for understanding, designing, and implementing services based on the Swiss E-ID ecosystem.
What are Trust Flows?
Trust flows are a practical way to visualize how trust is established and exchanged between the different actors of a digital ecosystem. They help identify who is involved, what information or credentials are exchanged, and which trust relationships must exist for a service to function. By making these interactions visible, trust-flow diagrams provide a bridge between E-ID concepts and real-world implementation.
What You Will Learn
-Understand the Swiss E-ID trust infrastructure, including the Trust Diamond, governance, security, legal aspects, and international examples.
-Learn how to model trust flows using different visualization approaches and diagramming techniques. Test your knowledge through an interactive quiz on digital identity and trust concepts.
-Explore practical use cases in banking and education. Discover how trust-flow diagrams can support project planning, stakeholder alignment, dependency analysis, requirements definition, and implementation roadmaps.
The goal of this session is not only to understand the Swiss E-ID ecosystem, but to learn how to design and use trust flows for your own business processes and digital services.
Our Speakers
Dr. Nora Sleumer (SI Vice-President) and Dr. Axel Schild co-lead the DIDAS Working Group on Trust Flows. Combining expertise in digital identity, trust infrastructures, architecture, project leadership, and implementation, they help organizations understand and design trust flows that support the adoption of the Swiss E-ID and other digital trust services.
Who Should Attend?
This session is designed for Enterprise and solution architects, Project managers, Digital transformation professionals, Public-sector professionals and anyone seeking a practical understanding of how digital identity ecosystems are implemented.
We look forward to welcoming you!
