About Event

The Lady’s Lab

Real conversations. No masks. No gatekeeping.

A bi-weekly facilitated space to think things through with women who understand the reality of the work.

Not a class. Not a workshop. No hierarchy. No fixing. No performance.

Just thoughtful conversations in the messy middle of leadership, creativity and change.

This Session

What If Work Is Changing Faster Than We Are?

How to design a future of work that actually works for you with Jess Larsen

Work is changing quickly.

AI is changing how jobs are structured, what skills are valued and what companies expect from people. But that is only part of it. The way we think about careers, ambition, productivity, flexibility and success is shifting too.

No wonder so many women feel like the ground is moving underneath them.

This Lady’s Lab is a chance to make sense of those changes — not as another conversation about “the future of work,” but from the point of view of the humans actually living through it.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why work can feel harder, stranger or less satisfying even when we are doing everything “right”

  • What wider social and technological shifts may be sitting underneath that feeling

  • Where we have more influence over our working lives than we sometimes realise

  • How to create the conditions that help us do good work without treating ourselves like machines

  • What it might mean to become an architect of the next chapter rather than simply adapt to whatever arrives

Jess will bring research, lived experience and her work through Thriving Humans into the room, alongside reflections from everyone joining.

Expect live questions, shared observations, collective sense-making and space to look at your own relationship with work.

The aim is not to leave with another productivity system.

It is to leave with a little more grace for what you are already navigating, language for why work feels the way it does, and a stronger sense that you can design more of what comes next than you may think.

Meet Jess Larsen

Jess Larsen is the founder of Thriving Humans, created in response to a simple concern: businesses are redesigning themselves around AI and new technologies, often without paying enough attention to the humans inside those systems.

Her work explores what makes for good work, sustainable performance and environments where people can actually thrive.

She is also a competitive rower, a newly “graduated” mum of twins, and a living experiment in one of the ideas at the heart of her work:

People are not machines.

As Jess puts it:

“You can design more than you realise. You have more influence over your future.”
