About the Evening

Longevity medicine tracks cardiovascular health, metabolic function, and hormonal balance with real rigor. It has almost nothing to say about the two to three years after a couple has a child, the exact window when chronic stress, a dysregulated nervous system, and undernourishment compound at once, for both partners, not just the mother.

That window is landing later and later. When conception happens in the mid to late 30s or early 40s, the postpartum recovery period now overlaps with the years where cardiovascular, metabolic, and bone-density trajectories are being set for the next three decades. An unsupported or poorly managed postpartum isn't just a rough first year. It's a healthspan decision point, for both people in the relationship.

This talk makes the physiological case for postpartum as a multi-year event, not a six-week recovery, and lays out what actually protects both partners through it.

What You'll Leave With

  • A framework for why the postpartum window belongs in your longevity stack, not outside it

  • What delayed parenthood does to the postpartum risk profile for both partners

  • A structured, couple-based intervention model, not just advice for the mother

Speaker

Paola Carrillo-Bustamante, PhD is a computational biologist and biomedical engineer, and founder of Munae, a postpartum recovery platform built on the Postpartum Decoded Framework. Her research background spans the Max Planck Institute and the Robert Koch Institute. Munae's core thesis: the couple, not the mother alone, is the correct unit of care for postpartum recovery.
