Everyday Skills We Carry
A Season of Practice
The Healing Grounds Foundation is Kinstead's nonprofit, supporting healing-centered and regenerative practice. While Kinstead is still in formation and does not yet have a permanent home, we are offering gatherings that help build the skills, relationships, and capacities needed for community life.
Kinstead is an ecovillage in development in the Hudson Valley: an interconnected ecosystem of people, homes, and land designed for thrivability, where care is built in, well-being is shared, and people and the land can adapt and thrive together over time. These gatherings offer an opportunity to begin practicing some of those ways of being together now.
Everyday Skills We Carry
This is a space to share and pick up real skills from everyday life.
In this first session, we will focus on the skills many of us rely on but do not always name. The practical knowledge that helps us care for ourselves, support others, navigate challenges, and create meaningful lives.
You are invited to come with one or two skills you carry from your own experience. That might be:
How you create moments of joy, celebration, or connection
How you care for people, especially when things get hard
How you make something work with limited resources
How you keep a household or shared space running
How you organize your time, energy, or responsibilities
How you build relationships, resolve conflict, or stay connected to community
During the session, you will share what you know in small groups and learn directly from others. The goal is simple: everyone leaves with at least one new skill, practice, or perspective they can bring into their own life and communities.
No expertise is required. Just a willingness to share what you know and learn from others.
