About Event

You already know the fight is not really about what it is about.

That awareness puts you ahead of most people. You see beneath the surface. You know something deeper is driving the conflict. And you are tired of knowing that without being able to do anything about it in the moment that matters most.

The people who actually change their relationships are not the ones with the least conflict. They are the ones who stop waiting for self-awareness to do the work that only skill does.

Stop the Loop is a 3.5-hour live virtual intensive built around one skill: what it actually takes to make someone feel understood in the middle of a fight. Not heard. Understood. There is a difference. And it is the difference.

You will practice in real time, in practice lab sessions, using the Empathy First framework from Why We Fight, my book publishing July 21st. I will be in the room watching where you get stuck and telling you exactly what is happening.

This works for every relationship where conflict keeps looping. Romantic partners, siblings, parents, adult children, close friends, or business partners. Attend with someone in your life or register solo and I will pair you with another participant if you wish.

What we work on:

  • Why most conflicts go sideways in the first two minutes

  • The difference between listening and making someone feel understood

  • How to mirror accurately without defending, fixing, or explaining

  • How childhood roles shape the way we give and receive empathy, and why the people we love may need it delivered differently than what felt like love growing up

  • Live troubleshooting: real conflicts, worked through in real time with me

This session covers one skill. Done right.

The rest of the framework lives in my book.
