Alpha DaRT® について
Alpha DaRT（Diffusing Alpha-emitters Radiation Therapy）は、ラジウム224を含浸させたソースを腫瘍内に直接投与し、高い生物学的効果をもつアルファ線を腫瘍部位に適合的（コンフォーマル）に照射することを目指した治療技術です。ラジウムが崩壊すると短寿命の娘核種がソースから放出・拡散し、その過程で高エネルギーのアルファ粒子を放出して腫瘍の破壊を狙います。アルファ放射体の拡散距離はごく短いため、腫瘍を主に標的化し、周辺の健常組織への影響を最小化することを意図しています。
