Lox 'n' Lawn
Bageled NYC is kicking off the 2026 grass season with our Lox ‘n’ Lawn event hosted by the historic Orange Lawn Tennis Club! We’ll have a tournament for intermediate and advanced players, clinics for folks who are newer to the game, bagels and lox for breakfast and lunch on-site, and the launch of brand new merch designed in collaboration with Ess-a-bagel - one of NYC's most famous bagel shops.

Tennis
You have two options to choose from for your on-court activities:
Tournament for upper intermediate and advanced players (NTRP 4.0+).
Clinics for beginners and lower intermediate players (up to NTRP 3.5).
We'll describe each one in more detail below...
Tournament
The tournament is doubles-based, where you and a partner will compete against other doubles teams in timed, round-robin games. Enter your partner's name during registration or let us find a doubles partner for you!
During one 2-hour session, you’ll compete against other teams in timed games of single-serve doubles on grass. During the other 2-hour session, you’ll compete against those same teams in timed games of dingles on Har-Tru (aka “green clay”). The two teams that win the most total games will move on to the finals, where they'll play one set of standard doubles on grass to determine the 2026 Lox ‘n’ Lawn champions!
For the tournament, we require entrants to be NTRP 4.0+. The tournament is open (all genders in the same draw together).
What’s "single-serve doubles points"?
Single-serve doubles points are regular doubles points but with only one serve per point. Each player serves 4 points before the next player serves. Whichever team scores the most points in the timed round wins the game.

Clinics
Is a competitive tournament not exactly what you’re looking for? We’ve got you covered! Orange Lawn Tennis Club has amazing instructors who will be running clinics throughout the day to keep you moving and ensure that you get lots of reps.
We're also offering half-day tickets for clinic participants interested in either coming during the first session (10am-1pm) or the second session (1pm-4pm).
New players or players up to NTRP 3.5 will participate in the clinics.

Special note on attire
Wear or bring all-white clothing and shoes for play on grass courts. Orange Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1880! To honor its storied history, the club requires that players wear white while playing on the grass. And since everyone will get a chance to play on the grass during Lox 'n' Lawn, you’ll need to have white clothing for this event.
What else should I bring?
Just bring your own racket(s). That's it!

Public Transportation: The club is a 3-minute drive/18-minute walk away from the South Orange stop on the NJ Transit Morris & Essex line (sidewalks the entire way from the train station to the club).

FAQ
I just bought an all day ticket and selected the tournament option during the registration flow. And I added the name of my doubles partner! Does my doubles partner also need a ticket? -> Yes! Your ticket covers you. But your partner needs to purchase their own ticket as well.
Is the clinic also doubles-based (like the tournament)? -> No. The clinics are for individuals to sign up for. Although you will likely play some doubles-based games during the day, you’ll also play singles.
Is the tournament divided based on gender? Will there be a men's or women's draw? -> No. The tournament is co-ed. That means there can be teams where both players are women, teams with one woman and one man, etc.
I’m a member of the Orange Lawn Tennis Club. Which ticket should I purchase? -> Select one of the tickets with “OLTC Member” in the ticket description. On a similar note, if you are not a member of the club, you should select a ticket that does not have “OLTC Member” in the description.
When I register, do I have to sign up with a doubles partner? -> No. If registering for the clinic, you should sign up as an individual. If registering for the tournament, you can either enter your partner’s name during registration and checkout or register solo and we’ll find a partner for you before the day of the event!
