How to Get Paid to Create — Content Creator Night
Creators in Salem: it’s time to talk about money.
Join us Monday, November 2 from 6–8 PM at The Space at 45th Parallel for a Content Creator Night focused on one thing — how to actually get paid for the content you make.
The panel
We’re kicking off the night with a conversation featuring Ellen Yin, founder of Cubicle to CEO, an Oregon State grad who left a corporate marketing job and built a multimillion-dollar media business, and Matty Tingles. They’ll get into how they turned an audience into income — sponsorships, pricing, pitching, and the mistakes they’d skip if they were starting today.
Why this matters
Most creators put in the work for years before anyone pays them for it, and a lot of them never figure out how. It’s not a talent problem. It’s that nobody teaches the business side: how to price your content, what brands are actually looking for, how to pitch, and how to say no to deals that undervalue you.
Understanding monetization changes everything. It’s the difference between a hobby and a career. It means you can keep creating instead of burning out. It means you negotiate from a position of knowledge instead of taking the first number a brand offers. And it means local businesses — the ones who badly need good content — get to work with creators who know what they’re doing. Brands are already spending money on creators. The only question is whether they’re spending it with you.
