How to Give a Short, Memorable Toast or Tribute
The holidays are approaching. And sooner or later, there will be a moment when everyone looks at you, and someone says:
“Would you like to say a few words?”
Every year, perfectly good celebrations are interrupted by endless speeches, embarrassing stories, inside jokes, and clichés.
What starts as a heartfelt tribute can quickly turn into something everyone wishes would end.
But we're going to do something about it!
Because sooner or later, someone will ask you to welcome guests, celebrate a business milestone, thank a colleague, or say farewell to your boss.
And when that moment comes, I want people raising their glasses—not checking their watches.
So let's practice!
We'll learn a few simple structures, play some games, and have fun. By the end, everyone will be able to give a tribute worth raising a glass to.
