Launch Event: Okun Alliance for Community Wealth Building
Okun is Ubele’s policy forum for Community Wealth Building, led by Black and Racially minoritised communities.
Translating to thread in Yoruba, Okun is an alliance of activists, community leaders, academics, policymakers, and politicians who believe that policy can be more inclusive, fair, racially just, and community led.
The alliance has three main objectives:
Greater voice for Black and racially minoritised communities involved in community wealth building
Increased coordination between Black and racially minoritised communities involved in community wealth building
Influence national policy on social and community wealth to better represent black and racially minoritised communities
Over the coming year, we aim to achieve this by developing an ambitious set of policies tackling some of the country’s biggest problems including housing, inequality, economic injustice and social investment.
Our launch event on March 25th will explore this in more detail, outlining our vision and plans for the year ahead.
Unfortunately we have limited spaces available at our launch event. We will close the registration link once we have reached capacity.
