About Event

Why can winter affect us so much?

As the cold sets in and the days get shorter, our routines, our energy and the way we relate to the world around us can shift. For those of us who grew up in warmer countries, a European winter can take on new meanings.

In this session, we'll talk about adapting to winter, the need to slow down and turn inward, having less daylight, changes in the rhythm of life, and how this season can affect our body, mood and relationships. We'll also look at what science tells us about light, our internal clock and seasonal changes in mood.

A question to bring with you: What do you notice in yourself when winter arrives?

About the series

Winter Among Us is a series of four free online conversations for Latina women living in Europe, hosted by the GL4G Switzerland, France & Italy Chapter and led by psychoanalyst and GL4G volunteer Paloma Carvalhar. Each session stands on its own, so there's no need to have joined the previous ones.

Format

Online · 60 minutes · 8–12 participants · Free

If the group is mixed-language, the session is held in English.
