Neighborhood Potluck + Yap
Let's do a potluck! One long table. Everyone brings a dish, a serving spoon, and the story behind it.
Food will go on the table family style (no buffet line). Every half hour we'll move down the table to meet new neighbors, bringing new conversation and new food.
We are borrowing the format from our friends at The Longest Table, which started on a New York City block in 2020 and now fills a table with a thousand neighbors, and from Community Plate in Maine, where every dish comes with a story and the recipes get compiled into a community cookbook afterward. (We will make a cookbook, too!)
Come whether or not you bring a dish. There will be plenty either way, and the point is our time together.
All ages are welcome, including kids!
5:00-6:00: Set-up hour, if you'd like to help push tables around and hang out early.
6:00: Doors open for dinner! We'll dine 'til 8:00 together.
Sunset Social Club gathers monthly on a Wednesday toward the end of each month. We are working toward every week, with members organizing their own events.
This is free! For us, by us neighbors (and friends of our neighborhood), at 4114 Judah.
