The Dating Survival Guide: Flirting, Situationships, Casual S*x (No Judgement Space!)
βποΈ Who we are
Screaming Pigeons curates intimate gatherings for women in their 20s and 30s in Singapore who believe female friendships hold something magical.
βπ About this event
Modern dating comes with a whole vocabulary of its own, but not necessarily a guidebook for navigating it.
βFor our next Ask Your Big Sis, Screaming Pigeons is collaborating again with Noorindah Iskandar, founder of Shy & Curious and sexual wellness advocate, for an honest, educational and judgement-free conversation about dating, flirting, situationships and casual sex.
βFor many women, conversations about sex and intimacy are still surrounded by shame, assumptions and unspoken rules. We believe education is power, especially when it comes to understanding our own bodies, recognising our boundaries and making informed decisions about our sexual wellbeing!
βπ What we'll be getting into:
βFlirting & navigating attraction: Understanding interest, reading social cues, communicating intentions and recognising when attention is or isn't welcome.
βSituationships & the grey areas of dating: Navigating ambiguity, mixed signals, expectations and conversations about what both people actually want.
βCasual sex & hookups: Understanding what healthy, consensual casual intimacy can look like, including the emotional and practical considerations involved.
βSexual health & staying safe: Practical conversations about contraception, STI prevention, testing, protection and making informed choices about our sexual wellbeing.
βBoundaries, consent & communication: Recognising your comfort levels, expressing your needs, understanding enthusiastic and ongoing consent, and knowing that you're always allowed to change your mind.
βFeelings, attachment & expectations: What happens when feelings develop, expectations change or an arrangement no longer feels right?
βPleasure & personal agency: Understanding our own desires and making decisions about intimacy that centre our comfort, safety and values.
βThe questions we're too shy to ask: From dating etiquette and sexual health to awkward encounters and common misconceptions, no question is too basic or embarrassing.
βMost importantly, there is no single right way to approach dating, relationships or intimacy.
