Hermes: Build Your First AI Agent in One Afternoon
Your First AI Employee Doesn't Need a Salary: Build an AI Agent with Hermes (Includes a Live AI Sales Agent Build)
Build a real AI agent in 4 hours — including one that runs live sales outreach.
In one afternoon, you'll:
Install and run your own working AI agent — not a demo, a real build
Build a functioning AI Sales Development Rep that runs real outreach
Learn what to hand to an agent — and what to keep doing yourself
Leave with something you can keep extending, no technical team required
Most AI courses teach you to use tools. This one gives you a working hire — one that already knows how to do the job — for the cost of an afternoon.
This workshop is run by a practitioner who has set up these systems and run real projects with them — not a scripted tutorial. In 4 hours, working alongside the trainer directly (1:12 trainer-to-participant ratio — you're coached, not lectured at), you'll install and configure Hermes, an open-source AI agent framework from Nous Research, and build a complete agent workflow tied to a real business outcome. You'll also build a working AI Sales Development Rep (AI SDR) — one that researches prospects, preps outreach, and runs sales workflows end to end — one concrete example of the kind of work an agent can take off your plate, whether that's sales, admin, research, or ops.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Articulate what differentiates Hermes from conventional chatbots and coding copilots
Understand the difference between probabilistic reasoning and deterministic execution
Install and configure Hermes in a cloud environment safely
Operate Hermes from the command line and connected messaging platforms
Understand how Hermes uses memory, context, tools, and skills to improve over time
Build a complete agent workflow from initial prompting through to automated reporting
Connect Hermes to external systems and APIs using the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Build a working AI Sales Development Rep that runs real outreach workflows end to end
Apply a practical framework for deciding what to hand to an agent — and what to keep doing yourself
Manage credentials, secrets, and permissions safely
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for professionals who want real leverage, not more busywork — those exploring AI automation for their career, business, or team, who are ready to move beyond theory and build a working agent. This is hands-on and moderately technical: you'll be working in a command line, setting up accounts, and configuring a real system, not just watching a demo. No prior experience with Hermes or AI agents specifically is required, but you should be comfortable following structured technical instructions — if you've never opened a terminal before, this may be a steep first step. While others are still experimenting, this is a chance to walk away with something already running. This is not for you if you're looking for a certificate or a tool tour.
What Participants Will Leave With
A working Hermes agent, installed and configured
A working AI SDR that runs real sales workflows end to end
A clear understanding of how memory, tools, skills, and scheduled automations function within an agent framework
Hands-on experience connecting Hermes to real systems
A practical framework for deciding what to hand to an agent — and what to keep doing yourself
A foundation to continue building and extending the agent independently, with no technical team required
Participants Requirements
A laptop running macOS, Linux, or Windows with WSL2 enabled (native Windows is not supported) — required, as this is a hands-on build, not a lecture
Comfort following command-line instructions and editing configuration values — you won't be writing code, but you will be typing commands and setting up accounts/API keys, so some prior exposure to a terminal is genuinely useful here
A stable internet connection, and the ability to sign up for one or more external accounts on the day (model provider, messaging platform, or similar) — you'll be coached through this step by step
No prior experience with Hermes itself, or with AI agents specifically, is required — but this is not a zero-technical-background session
Willingness to troubleshoot alongside the trainer — first-time agent configuration occasionally needs a second pass, and that's a normal part of the process, not a sign something's wrong
