Join an UWS PubClub for an evening of discussion and good vibes.

Topic of Discussion: Trade-Offs and Representation

In a democratic republic, we make a trade-off. We can't make every decision, so we give representatives power to represent us and our community.

Should the current balance be changed? Would you prefer that we have fewer representatives with more power? What about creating longer term limits? Such a change could reduce gridlock and create change, but it comes at a potential cost of outsourcing our impact and require us to trust our representatives even more.

Should we shift the balance the other way? Would our problems be solved if we had more representatives to more effectively reflect our nuanced views?
