Francisco Cruz Mendoza @ Notion (GENTE co-chair)
Francisco is a community manager with over 10 years of experience across a variety of different startups and organizations. Today he helps support one of the kindest communities on the web at Notion and help support the internal GENTE erg as a co-chair.
Francisco is graduate from UC Davis where he studied Economics and Chicano studies. Previously he was a social media manager at Techqueria 🌮
Frances Coronel @ JupiterOne
Frances is a senior software engineer at JupiterOne, a cybersecurity startup that provides cyber asset attack surface management. At JupiterOne, she is focused on their design system and UI infrastructure and is responsible for executing projects that cross multiple applications in their front end 🪐
She also served as the Executive Director for Techqueria, a 501c3 nonprofit serving the largest community of Latinx professionals in tech 🌮Frances was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and identifies as Peruvian-America 🇵🇪
Red Avila @ OpenAI
Red is a recruiter at OpenAI, a leading AI research and deployment lab. He’s learned to use the power of community-building and talent to help teams build better technologies for the world and has co-founded 2 ERGs.
Monica Perez @ Notion (GENTE co-chair)
Monica is passionate about building high-performing Customer Success teams at product-led-growth (PLG) companies. As the Head of Customer Success at Notion, her team takes on an extremely customer-centric focus in helping businesses leverage Notion to increase their teams’ productivity and collaboration. Previously, Monica was at Signeasy - an eSignature platform, where she helped implement digital transformation strategies at growing companies.
As a non-technical woman in tech, Monica is passionate about sharing her experiences and advocating for increased accessibility to all backgrounds in tech. She is trilingual (English, Spanish, and Portuguese) and spends her free time doing yoga, adding books to her Kindle library, and scouring online for the best last-minute flight deals to anywhere. She is a graduate of Brown University (B.A) and Georgetown University (M.A).
