Pre-Slush Mastermind online meetup - Trade Stories, Not Business Cards
Beyond Your Firm’s Name
Personal narrative and readiness for Principals and emerging fund managers heading into Slush
At big tech events like Slush you’ll introduce yourself dozens of times. Most investors give their firm’s name and their title, and from that point the conversation is about the firm, not about you.
This session is for Principals, Investment Managers and emerging fund managers (GPs) who want to be remembered as investors in their own right. Whether you’re working toward partner or raising your first or second fund, the people you meet in Helsinki will be judging you before they ever look at your deck.
We’ll cover:
Your narrative: a past / present / future structure that links what you’ve done to the thesis you’re building, whether that’s your own track record or your fund’s strategy
How readiness gets noticed: what Partners and LPs pick up on at dinners, side events and in hallways (judgment, network, presence), and what that means for how you spend the week
A working draft: you’ll leave with a version of your introduction you can use in Helsinki
Hosted by Liliana Negrila (former LP at the European Investment Fund, now a fundraising advisor and executive coach) and Anieke Lamers (has coached 100+ VCs). Together they run The VC Coach masterminds.
Small group. Chatham House rules.
