Why don’t we have more lifesaving medicines?
Why don’t we have more medicines that save lives?
For decades, we’ve promised moonshots to cure cancer and other deadly diseases, but progress has slowed. While healthcare debates often center on who pays and who gets access, the deeper issue is that new medicines aren’t being developed as quickly as they could be. Is the problem the science, or how we organize and regulate our scientific institutions?
Join Students for Abundance at Berkeley for a conversation with Adam Kroetsch, former Deputy Director at the Office of Program and Strategic Analysis at the FDA and healthcare policy researcher at Duke, as we discuss how policy and institutional changes could accelerate the development of new medicines to save more lives.
All majors and backgrounds are welcome. Sliver Pizza will be served.
