Uncertainty Bubbles

​Good management is about predictability and certainty. Good innovation is about surprise and uncertainty. So most companies tend to end up arranged in ways that prevent innovation from happening, even despite plenty of talk about the importance of innovation or attempts to incentivise innovation.

​You can't innovate effectively while sticking to the tempo, processes and constraints of a normal company.

​But you can't persuade a whole company to feel OK about the messiness of innovation (it's hard enough to get an individual or small team to feel OK about it!).

​The trick is to get good at blowing Uncertainty Bubbles.

​In this session, we'll share our developing thinking about how to structure the inside, outside and lifespan of an Uncertainty Bubble, along with stories and examples. We'll also allow plenty of time for discussion and Q&A, along with meeting peers who joined.
