​We spend most of our lives inside our heads. Thinking, planning, replaying, worrying.

​Meditation has travelled a long way to reach our phone screens. But before it became an app, a timer or a tool for stress relief, it was a way to investigate attention, awareness and the nature of our own experience.

​In this SPARK Clubhouse, we go underneath the practice. Together with Batul, we’ll sit, experiment and explore what happens when the noise gets quieter.

​Where does your attention go when you don't direct it?

​Batul Loomans started Buddha to Buddha after a meditation journey through Southeast Asia in 1997. He made himself a heavy silver bracelet to stay grounded while he sat, and built a brand around one idea: connection, starting with yourself. He's been sitting with that question for almost thirty years.

We are hosting the SPARK Clubhouse in De Kas @ Diaconie: a greenhouse-style, open-air space nestled in the courtyard at the Amsterdam Canals. A light-filled setting where nature and city meet.
