About Event

Our monthly webinar series, hosted by Women of Customer Success for members of The Lounge. If you're not a member yet and want to join this webinar, you can join at womenofcustomersuccess.com/membership and then register here.

Customer success engineer and forward deployed engineer roles are showing up more often in post-sales teams, especially at AI companies. Both sit between the customer and the product, and both call for more technical depth than a traditional CSM role. The titles are still used loosely, so it can be hard to tell what the job involves or whether it's a realistic next step from where you are now.

In this session, Joseph Schliffer Director, Forward Deployed Engineering @Handshake and Jasleen Singh Forward Deployed Engineer for the Generative AI team @Google will explain what these roles look like inside their teams. They'll cover how CS engineers and FDEs differ from each other and from CSMs, solutions engineers and support engineers. They'll also share what a typical week involves, which technical skills you need on day one and which you can pick up on the job, and how people have moved into these roles from other post-sales positions.

Bring your questions. There will be time for Q&A, and you can also submit a question when you register so we can make sure it gets covered.

Who it's for:
Members of The Lounge membership (through Women of CS). The session is for individual contributors through Senior Managers in customer success, account management, support, onboarding or any other post-sales function. Registrations are reviewed.

Format: 60 minutes on Zoom.

This is the third of three monthly Lounge webinars this quarter (Q4 2026).
