Skills to Start: Red Wing

​Join us at our upcoming Skills to Start Event on Tuesday, March 31 at the Red Wing Shoe Store in Red Wing.

​This free, hands-on, community-driven event is designed to spark curiosity and confidence in the trades. Attendees will: 

• ​Hear directly from local trades professionals and companies about their career journeys (Xcel Energy, Knobelsdorff, SB Foot, Red Wing Shoe Co)

• ​Connect with training programs, trade schools, and community organizations (Dunwoody Technical College, SE MN State, Workforce Development, Mobile Trades Learning Lab)

• ​Explore real opportunities in a supportive, welcoming environment 

• ​Take home free gear and practical tips to help them take their next step 

• ​Learn more about our RW Trades Scholarship for students

• ​Free food and beverages are provided 

​Our goal is to inspire youth and parents to see the skilled trades as a proud, rewarding career path. 

​This event if for students, ages 16-24, to explore the many opportunities available in the skilled trades. This is an open house event, feel free to come anytime between 6-8 pm.

​Mobile Learning Lab

​Right outside of the Red Wing store, you can step inside the trades through immersive VR experiences that let you explore real careers in construction, energy, manufacturing and more! This experience and the entire event is free to all!
