From Ignored to Funded: A Practical Fundraising Session for Founders
We’re doing this session again because several founders from our previous session asked for another opportunity to join, ask questions and go deeper into the fundraising process.
If you are planning to raise capital, already speaking to investors, or simply trying to understand whether your business is ready to raise, this session is for you.
Let's talk honestly about fundraising.
Fundraising can look very different from the outside.
You prepare a pitch deck.
You start reaching out to investors.
You take meetings.
And then the replies slow down.
Sometimes there is no reply at all.
The problem is not always the business or the idea. Often, founders haven't clearly worked out how to position the opportunity, what investors need to see, who to approach, or how to move the conversation forward.
That is what we will work through in this session.
What we will cover
Getting investor-ready
What should actually be ready before you start approaching investors — and what founders often overlook.
Your fundraising story
How to explain your business, market, traction and opportunity in a way that makes sense to an investor.
Your pitch deck and numbers
What investors are likely to question, what your deck needs to communicate, and where financial projections often go wrong.
Finding the right investors
How to think about investor fit instead of sending your deck to everyone you can find.
Running a fundraising process
How to structure your outreach, conversations and follow-ups so that fundraising becomes a process rather than a series of disconnected meetings.
Handling investor responses
What to do when investors say "not now", ask for more information, stop responding, or raise concerns about your business.
Knowing what needs fixing
Sometimes the answer is more traction. Sometimes it is positioning. Sometimes it is the pitch. Sometimes it is simply approaching the wrong investors.
We will discuss how to identify the difference.
This will be an interactive session
Bring your questions.
Bring the fundraising challenge you are currently facing.
If you have already started speaking to investors, you can also bring the questions or objections you are hearing.
The aim is for you to leave with a much clearer understanding of what your next step should be.
Who should attend?
This session is particularly useful for:
Founders preparing for their first fundraising round
Pre-seed and seed-stage founders
Founders who have started approaching investors but aren't getting enough responses
Founders who already have a pitch deck and want to know what may be missing
Founders unsure about investor targeting, valuation or fundraising strategy
Founders who want an honest assessment of whether they are ready to raise
You don't need to have everything figured out before attending.
About the session
This is not a session promising guaranteed funding or quick introductions to investors.
The focus is on helping founders understand the fundraising process better, identify what needs work and approach investors with greater clarity and preparation.
