Comms & Croissants - A networking breakfast at the Communicating for a Better World conference.
New York’s nonprofits pack a mighty punch.
Well over 30,000 people work across the UN and countless NGOs. But as impact professionals, how often do we make the most of this incredible ecosystem?
Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked for the very large ICRC, the very small Kofi Annan Foundation, and somewhere in between, the International AIDS Society. And still, I always felt like I was only scratching the surface.
So many conversations I haven’t had. People I haven’t met. Connections I haven’t made.
Silos are real.
So last year in Geneva, I started hosting “Comms & Croissants”: networking breakfasts to help communicators connect and get organized.
The one recurring frustration I hear in those meetings? Comms is treated as an afterthought.
And it shows. We’re not in people’s feeds. We don’t appear in their podcasts or their articles.
So here’s my proposal:
If you’re in NYC, join us for the first-ever Comms & Croissants on the sidelines of the "Communicating for a Better World" conference:
☕ Break out of our silos over coffee and pastries.
🎤 Hear from one of the most exceptional CEOs around, Kathleen Sherwin, on how she thinks about telling a story that stands out.
The details:
📅 When: Friday 23 Oct, 8:00–9:30am
📍 Where: Auditorium, CUNY Graduate Center
And the best part? It’s completely free. Just nonprofit comms folk getting together to see what sparks.
None of this would be possible without the support of M Booth Health, the Communicating for a Better World Conference and Kathleen Sherwin, President and CEO of Orbis International.
Thank You!
