Mexico City 2027: 5 Day 4 Night Stranger Trip!
Picture this. It is still dark. You are standing in a field outside the city with the rest of the group, watching a hot air balloon inflate in front of you. Twenty minutes later you are hundreds of metres up, the sun is coming over the horizon, and a 2,000 year old pyramid complex is spread out underneath you. 🎈
That is one morning of five.
We fly out the evening of Thursday, February 11 and land back in Vancouver the night of Tuesday, February 16. ✈️
Five Days in Mexico City 🇲🇽
Four nights in one of the most beautiful, best fed, most walkable neighbourhoods in the city. Days spent wandering old colonial streets, ancient ruins sitting right in the middle of a modern city, murals painted across government walls, and some of the best museums anywhere in the world.
Nights spent at a wrestling arena with masked fighters flying off the ropes and thousands of people losing their minds, or on a rooftop, or somewhere with very good tacos. 🌮
One afternoon we take over a private boat and float through a canal system the Aztecs built, with mariachi boats pulling up alongside us.
February is the best time to do this. Dry season, warm afternoons, cool mornings, no rain, and the cheapest airfare of the year.
Who This Trip Is Built For 🎨
Two kinds of people, and Mexico City is one of the very few cities on earth that serves both at once.
If you are into art, history and culture, this is a city of 150 museums, ancient pyramids, world famous murals and one of the most beautiful concert halls ever built. Five museums and landmarks are included, and we walk five very different neighbourhoods.
If you are the adventurous type, you get a sunrise hot air balloon flight, a wrestling arena on a Friday night, and a party boat in the middle of the afternoon.
Most people who come on this trip are a bit of both, and that is exactly the group we are looking for.
What to Expect
A full itinerary planned around what is open, what gets crowded, and how long it actually takes to cross a city of 22 million people
A trip host on the ground with the group the whole time
One unforgettable sunrise, one very loud night, one afternoon on the water, and a lot of street food in between
Plenty of walking, but nothing technical and no fitness requirement beyond being comfortable on your feet
Real free time built in, so you are not being marched around for five days
16 spots, split evenly: 8 for the girls and 8 for the guys
You do not need to speak a word of Spanish and you do not need to have travelled in Latin America before.

Cost 💰
Upfront cost: $800 CAD per person
Estimated all in cost: around $2,000 CAD per person, including flights, food and personal spending.
That breaks down roughly as $800 for the trip, $600 to $800 for airfare, $300 to $350 for food and drinks across five days, and $150 or so for city transport, optional tickets and shopping. Treat $2,000 as a planning number so you know what to save, not a fixed price.

Flights ✈️
Flights are not included in the $800, for two reasons. Airfare on this route moves constantly, sometimes by hundreds of dollars in a week, and we are not going to bake a number that unstable into the trip price. This trip is also open to people flying in from anywhere in Canada or the US, so there is no single fare that works for everyone.
We will recommend the exact flight the group is taking, and we can book it for you if you would rather not deal with it. Just ask. The cost of that ticket is separate from the $800.
Splitwise 📱
Every shared expense we pick up during the trip goes on Splitwise and gets split evenly after the trip. Group rides, any vehicle we hire, anything the group books together once we are there.
This is deliberate, and it is what keeps the trip cheap. Splitting a van 16 ways costs a fraction of what any of us would pay alone, and pooling everything gets us the group rate instead of the tourist rate. Everyone sees the same ledger and we settle up once we are home.
Rooms 🛏️
Rooms are shared, 4 people per room, same gender. Room groups are assigned by the organizer and become your buddy group for the trip. 8 spots for the girls and 8 for the guys, split across four rooms.
Documents 🛂
This is an international trip and you are responsible for your own passport and entry documents. Mexico entry rules depend on your citizenship and your immigration status. Canadian citizens and PR card holders enter visa free. If you are here on a study or work permit, the permit alone is generally not enough. You will usually need a valid Canadian visa sticker or a valid US, UK, Schengen or Japan visa to qualify. Check your exact situation before you pay, not in January.
Important Notes ⚠️
Your spot is confirmed only once we have contacted you and your deposit is received
All payments, including the deposit, are non refundable
Everyone travels together, arrives together and leaves together
The itinerary may change. Opening hours, traffic, weather and vendor decisions are outside our control
Five days, one incredible city, a group of 16. Come with us. 🌮🎈
