*** Spots are limited for this meetup and you must RSVP here. This helps us with planning and ensures everyone has a seat.
*** We may take a group photo immediately after the silent reading hour. If you wish to not be in the photo, feel free to step away and stretch your legs while the photo is being taken. Afterward, we take a photo of all the books stacked together. If you’d like to participate in that one, you’re more than welcome to join!
*** If you wish, bring headphones, ear plugs, etc. for the reading portion of the meetup since there may be café chatter and music.
Welcome to the Silent Book Club chapter in Torrance, CA! Whether you're an avid reader or just looking to make some new bookish friends, this group and meetup is open to all. There is no assigned reading and you bring your own book! We read silently with time frames to socialize. All readers are welcome!

For this book club meetup, we will be meeting at Mimi's Cafe!
Mimi's Cafe is a neighborhood bistro that specializes in artisanal comfort dishes and classic bistro fare prepared with a personal touch. We will be meeting in the winery room for amazing food and drinks, good books, and a relaxed evening.
Some notes: when you arrive, please let the staff know that you are there for the book club. They will take you to the winery room. All checks will be separate, meaning every person that orders beverages and food, will receive their own itemized check to pay. There will be no need to split checks- no Zelle or Venmo needed!
How this 2.5 hour meetup works at Mimi's Cafe:
6 - 6:30, We settle in, chit-chat, order beverages/food
6:30 - 6:40ish, Intros!
6:40ish - 7:40, We read silently. If you wish, bring headphones, ear plugs, etc. for the reading portion of the meetup since there may be café chatter and music.
7:40 - 7:50ish, Group picture! If you wish to not be in the picture, feel free to step away and stretch your legs while the photo is being taken. Afterward, we take a photo of all the books stacked together. If you’d like to participate in that one, you’re more than welcome to join!
7:50ish - 8:30, We chit-chat, hang out!
