Waybox Design Competition
Waybox Online Design Competition
Waybox is a hardware company founded in Silicon Valley. We build aftermarket products for the car.
We love to drive, and we think the experience of being in a car hasn't kept up. AI is starting to change that, but the way it shows up in cars today isn't the only form it can take. We don't treat AI as one more feature bolted on; we see it as a reason to design a product fresh — AI-native, not AI-added. Dieter Rams put it simply: less, but better. We start with the car.
We're running a 10-day online design competition and inviting design students and experienced designers across the U.S. to take part. The task: design a concept for a physical product that lives inside the car — an in-car agent with body.
Each concept should cover four things:
Form — what it looks like
Function — what it does
Use — how people interact with it
Why — your reasoning, and your read of the market
~30 participants selected. Solo work, judged on merit, done from anywhere.
🏆 Prizes — USD $8,400 pool: 3 × $1,000 (Best Concept · Most Complete Narrative · Best Feasibility) + $200 to every participant who delivers a complete submission.
