What is the Citizens Energy Package, and how can it help make energy more affordable and accessible for all?
This new EU initiative is designed to help ensure that all Europeans have access to affordable, clean and secure energy, while also encouraging them to play their part in Europe’s clean energy transition. During this Talk, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) will present the Package’s main objectives, including actions to lower household energy bills, protect and empower consumers, tackle energy poverty and support the effective implementation of existing EU energy legislation. The Talk will also showcase practical examples of energy communities or other initiatives supporting citizen participation in the clean energy transition that are helping citizens reduce costs and strengthen more inclusive and resilient local energy systems.
