Midsummer Warm Data Lab
You are cheerfully invited to a Midsummer Warm Data Lab in the park. The Lab will take place on Sunday, July 19, from 12:00pm - 2pm, in Cedar Rose Park in Berkeley, CA.
In these turbulent times, many of us feel we are standing on unstable ground. Being humans together in Warm Data sessions helps us see fresh possibilities for being okay within our changing world.
This is an invitation to hang out, share stories, slow down, together. To arrive as you are, with all your messy complexity and whole selves.
Step out of fixing, faster, fragmentation, and into a space for collective conversation across contexts, surrounded by boundless life of summer in the park. To create conditions for new perceptions and the soil for new ideas.
When we come together to share our stories and listen to one another, we expand our view of life, deepen our understanding of what others in our communities are going through, and perhaps even see fresh possibilities.
What’s a Warm Data Lab??
Warm Data Lab experiences have been described as a “kaleidoscope of conversation,” packed with enriching stories, laughter, and insight.
Warm Data Labs, developed by Nora Bateson, are hosted conversations that explore the interconnections between complex systems. They are not about solving or debating—but about noticing. Through multiple perspectives, we begin to sense the deeper patterns shaping the issues we care about.
Warm Data Labs can help strengthen and practice our collective ability to perceive, discuss, and hold complex issues.
What do I need to know?
This lab will be hosted on a lawn, so please come prepared to sit on a blanket OR bring a folding chair that you can use. We will have some chairs, but you're welcome to contribute if you have a portable seating preference!
We also recommend that you bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, a hat, or any other items that will help you stay shaded and cool as we expect it will be warm out!
