In 1989, driven by a simple question—“If not me, then who?”—Dr. Girish Kulkarni offered a loaf of bread and a safe corner to an ostracized family in Ahmednagar’s red-light district.
Thirty-seven years later, that single gesture has grown into Snehalaya: a network of 26 grassroots projects, hospitals, and schools that have rescued, rehabilitated, and empowered over 200,000 vulnerable women and children.
