​We are thrilled to announce the screening of Anujah Fernando’s powerful short film, “இனி வந்தென்ன வராமல் என்ன [Does it matter now if I come or go] – Letters from Kantstraße 104a,” on May 31st.

​This evocative narrative delves into the lives of Eelam Tamil migrants in 1980s West Berlin, portraying their migration from conflict-ridden Sri Lanka to seeking refuge in Germany and other countries. Through poignant letters based on interviews with former asylum seekers hosted at Kantstraße104a, the docu-fictional film captures the transient nature of migration during the 1980s and makes a case for envisioning liminal spaces like asylum shelters as sites of the living.
