Astra Lumina: Magical Stanley Park Night out
Stanley Park is getting lit up this fall and we are going to see it. Astra Lumina is an outdoor night walk through the forest where light installations, projections and a cosmic soundtrack turn the trail into a story about stars falling to earth and finding their way back to the sky.
It is a walk, not a hike, so anyone can do it. Plenty of people come solo, and moving through something this unusual as a group makes it very easy to actually talk to people. Come on your own or bring a friend.
Afterwards we are heading into downtown for food for anyone who wants to keep the night going.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A self-guided walk of about one mile through nine themed zones, roughly 45 to 60 minutes
Large-scale light installations, 360-degree projections, video mapping and an original soundtrack
Easy pace, no fitness level or experience needed
Narrow, uneven dirt pathways on a natural hillside, so sturdy shoes matter
Cool November night air in the park, so dress warm
Food in downtown afterwards for anyone who is up for it
COST
Event cost: $50 per person.
Please send the $50 event cost to payments@vancityconnect.org to confirm your registration.
