For the next Shut the Shop, We bring together an INCREDIBLE line up of DJs/ Producers- James @jimono.music/ Melody @djmelodykane and our Special Guest - Matthew @matthewdekay for an evening of conversation, music and community, exploring the role of DJing culture in a time when people are searching for deeper, more human forms of connection.
As traditional club scenes shrink, the need to gather has not disappeared. It has moved. It is showing up in salons, galleries, pop-ups, listening rooms, day parties, community spaces and intimate cultural moments where music becomes more than sound. It becomes a reason to come together.
This edition of Shut the Shop asks: what does the DJ represent now? Is the DJ simply someone who plays music, or are they a cultural connector, a room-builder, a storyteller, a healer, a host of collective emotion?
Through the Music and open conversation with these incredible Djs, followed by live sets, we will explore how music helps us find each other again how rhythm, taste, movement and shared energy can cut through isolation and remind us what it feels like to belong.
As always, Shut the Chop celebrates doers: the people shaping culture from the ground up, building community without waiting for permission, and creating spaces where people can be seen, heard and held.
