FLINTA* Game Dev Meetup #1
Hello 👋 We are Nathania and Janeke, two women working in the games industry.
Together we want to create a space for the FLINTA* game community to hang out, meet other like-minded folk and talk about topics that interest us. It is intended to facilitate connections in a casual social setting and without a formal agenda.
Whether you are working, studying or simply interested in game development, we would love to have you join us!
As this is the first meetup we are hosting, we’d like to limit it to 15 participants, so that it doesn’t get overwhelming. It will take place at a café for now (this may change in the future as we keep looking for a venue that could offer a more affordable and private alternative).
The café is barrier-free and has a wheelchair-accessible toilet. While the place is not FLINTA*-exclusive, the meetup will be.
The meeting wishes to provide a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for its participants and they should exercise consideration and respect in speech and actions. Check the Berlin Code of Conduct for details. Please be aware that any kind of recording at the meeting is prohibited and will be considered a breach of the CoC, unless permission has been explicitly granted.
Finally, the registration questionnaire is to help us provide a safer space for attendees, so please don’t be afraid to sign up!
FAQ
Can I participate despite not working in the games industry?
Absolutely. Whether game development is your hobby, you are currently studying it, have just started to get experience in the industry or have been working in it for years, you are welcome.
I am a game designer / artist / writer / programmer / animator … is this for me too?
If you are FLINTA*, want to connect with others and do something with games, you are welcome.
But I create physical games / tabletop RPGs / organize game events … and don’t work in digital games, can I attend?
Yes!!
Do I have to bring anything?
No. As we are hosting the event at a café, it is possible to purchase food and drinks.
Is this a recurring event?
While this is the first time we are hosting the meetup, we intend to do so at regular intervals in the future.
