For October’s BMF Monthly Hang, we’re going bowling.
Our member host, Donnie Hill, was very clear about what he loves about it: bowling gives you permission to be silly, compete over something that does not matter, laugh at yourself, and stop taking life, or yourself, so damn seriously for a few hours.
Most of adult life asks men to produce, optimize, achieve, and keep your shit together, seriously.
We need to practice and go to places where grown men can throw a heavy ball at pins, talk trash to their friends, celebrate a strike like they won the Super Bowl, and remember that life is fun.
This will be an easy, low-pressure night of bowling, food and drinks if you want them, and three hours around good men.
No need to be good at bowling. No forced vulnerability. No performance. No workshop energy.
Come bowl badly. Bowl brilliantly. Talk shit. Cheer somebody on. Have a couple of real conversations in between.
The BMF "Balanced and Badass" operating system pillars for the night are:
Aliveness: Play, laughter, spontaneity, silliness, and remembering that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just managed or optimized.
Brotherhood: Building connection through shared experiences, friendly competition, encouragement, and the freedom to be yourself around other men.
BMF is a movement, community, and transformation system for men who want to become whole without becoming soft, fake, numb, or alone.
