Student Symposium 2026

​Join us for the 2026 Student Symposium of the Columbia Summer Institute for Dialogue and Civic Practice.

​Over two weeks, our high school students have developed original research questions, conducted interviews and observations, analyzed evidence, and written short qualitative research papers exploring what makes dialogue difficult and what makes it possible in a polarized society. At the symposium, our students will present their projects, share their initial findings, and reflect on what they learned through their first experience conducting social science research.

The program will conclude with a certificate ceremony celebrating the students’ work and accomplishments.
